What is it?

Audios, Videos and Pictures can be added to any Blog entry, About You, the Gallery and all Home Pages, except Master Scheduler.

All of these file types can be added via the Add Media dialogue box in the following ways:

  • Dragging and Dropping a media file on the target.
  • Browsing for the File on your PC.
  • Live Capture using a Webcam.

Using the Add Media dialogue box

Option 1: Browse

  1. Click on the Add Media link to open the Add Media dialogue box.
  2. Select the Browse tab.
  3. Press the Browse... button to Navigate to the appropriate file location.
  4. Select the file.
  5. The file will appear in the file name list
  6. Click Upload to upload the file, or Remove to remove the file from the list
Tip: The Gallery... button launches the Gallery window which allows you to browse through a visual listing of all of the albums and media items in your Journal's Gallery.


Option 2: Drag And Drop

Want to upload more than one media file at a time?

  1. Click on the Add Media link to open the Add Media dialogue box.
  2. Select the Drag and Drop tab.
  3. From a different window, Open the File Folder containing the audio, video or picture files to be uploaded to your Journal.
  4. Once you have chosen the media files to add, Click on the First One and Then Click on the Last, while simultaneously holding down the shift key on your keyboard. These files can be any combination of audio, video or picture.
  5. Click and Hold the left mouse button over the highlighted files.
  6. Drag up to 100 files over the Add Media Target.
  7. Look for the "Plus Sign" as you hover over the target.
  8. Release the Left Mouse Button. The status bar will update the upload progress.

Tip: When you see the "+" sign, you can drop the files on the target. Be aware of the fact that if you don't see the "+", the picture will open in another browser window. If this happens, close the new window and drag and drop the file on the target again.

Option 3: Capture Live Media

Got a Webcam? Want to record a Message to leave for your Journal Viewers? You can, with just a few clicks of the mouse!

Video Capture:

  1. Click on the Add Media link to open the Add Media dialogue box.
  2. OR
  3. Right-click on the Album you want to add the Video to, and select Add Media to open the Add Media dialogue box.
  4. Select the Webcam tab.
  5. Press Record Video.
  6. Press Click to Begin Recording.
  7. Smile! Look into the Camera and record your video.
  8. When you have finished, press Now Recording... Click to Stop. The recording will play automatically.
  9. Press Save to upload the audio file OR Start Over to re-record.

Audio Capture:

  1. Click on the Add Media link to open the Add Media dialogue box.
  2. OR
  3. Right-click on the Album you want to add the Audio to, and select Add Media to open the Add Media dialogue box.
  4. Select the Webcam tab.
  5. Press Record Audio.
  6. Press Click to Begin Recording.
  7. Speak into the Microphone or Webcam.
  8. When you have finished, press Now Recording... Click to Stop. The recording will play automatically.
  9. Press Save to upload the audio file OR Start Over to re-record.

Pictures:

  1. Click on the Add Media link to open the Add Media dialogue box.
  2. OR
  3. Right-click on the Album you want to add the Picture to, and select Add Media to open the Add Media dialogue box.
  4. Select the Webcam tab.
  5. Press Snap Picture.
  6. Smile! Look into the Camera.
  7. Press Click to Snap a Picture.
  8. Press Save to upload the picture OR Start Over to snap another picture.

Tip: Uploading media files larger than 5 MB may take some time even with a broadband connection. The larger the file, the longer it takes. Be patient, Journal will do the job!
