Blue Butterfly Campaign

With the publication of the novel, the author would like to start The Blue Butterfly Campaign, donating a portion of the profits from each book to finance the creation of much needed crisis shelters for abused women and runaways. " More than four million women were battered by their husband or partner this year in the USA, and according to medical journals, this is the leading cause of injury and death to American women. It is a crime committed every nine seconds, most often in the one place where they should feel safe, at home."

A special fund has not yet been established. Upon receiving my first royalty check, I will open a bank account for, The Blue Butterfly Campaign, with 10% of the profits from the book-signing sales, and all sales to date. Thank you all for your donation. Kathy
  • Donation Made on belhalf of TBBC
    January 10, 2008
While we were visiting in South Africa, we met with Peter and Jenny Boijman and gave them a donation on behalf of (TBBC)The Blue Butterfly Campaign. (The booksales were not bad for a new release, but I hope the next quarterly TBBC donation can be higher.) Anyway, 10% of the royalties on sales, for the period of September - December, amounted to 50,00 Euro. The Boijmans will hand deliver the money, as well as our donations of clothes, to Agnes Mhlanga, a very special woman who we had the pleasure of meeting in 2005. The personification of "Women Helping Women", Agnes has devoted her life to nurturing and spiritually guiding the Widows and Orphans in her village in Zimbabwe. Photos of the meeting with the Boijmans, and of Agnes and the beautiful children of Zimbabwe can be viewed in the Gallery. Again, thank you all for your purchases and please encourage your friends to get their copy of The Butterfly Clinic. Next TBBC donation will be made in April.
  • Charity suggestions????
    January 10, 2008
Hello again, It takes a long time, and a much larger deposit than 50,00 Euro to create an official government supported charity. So, until The Butterfly Clinic finds its way to a larger publishing house, I will continue to donate 10% of whatever the quarterly sales amount to, in a private one-on-one manner. I would like to donate the next quarterly payment (sometime in April-2008) to a safe house shelter for abused women, preferably in the Phoenix area. If anyone has information over such a shelter, please let me know. Thanks, Kathy
