Thank you "First Readers"....

To my friends: Sandy Bass, Renee van den Berg, Ginny Keller and Kathryn van Rutten, thank you all for your excellent critiques of Chapter Closed. Your comments were much appreciated and have been passed on to Judith Bruni to use in her marketing campaign.  In addition to the work of these talented ladies, the manuscript went through the eagle eye scutiny of my friend and Proofreader, Sophie Conin. Not only did she catch my undotted i's and uncrossed t's, she improved my French and challenged a few scenes which in the end, were changed for the better. Merci, Sophie!

Now the process will take 2-3 months of reading and editing at the Agent's office and then the manuscript hits the marketing trail. When we have news from an interested publishing house, I'll update the blog. Until then...have a lovely summer! Kathy

Another successful book-signing event!

I want to take a moment to thank all my friends and colleagues from Farelcollege for stopping in and purchasing a copy of The Butterfly Clinic.   Also, a huge thank you to the, Dames van Amesz, for organizing the event, as well as the nice interview with, Mr. Woldring from the Rotterdam newspaper, De Ster.   And, of course, Dirk Izelaar for his role in this event. (Click through the photo gallery, and leave a comment by your photo. I'd love to hear from you.)

Blue Butterfly Campaign

With the publication of the novel, the author would like to start The Blue Butterfly Campaign, donating a portion of the profits from each book to finance the creation of much needed crisis shelters for abused women and runaways. " More than four million women were battered by their husband or partner this year in the USA, and according to medical journals, this is the leading cause of injury and death to American women. It is a crime committed every nine seconds, most often in the one place where they should feel safe, at home."

Hoofdstuk II Book Signing Huge Success!

November 15, 2007

Dear family and friends,

Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement (and purchases) at the book signing party. It was a complete sell-out! Some of you had requested additional copies of  The Butterfly Clinic...If you are unable to make it to the book signing at J.Amesz on 24-November, please let me know and I will be happy to reserve a copy and deliver it to you. We had a great time and hope you did, too.  The photos turned out really nice; special thanks to the photographers, Hans van den Berg and Dirk Izelaar.
